ASUU Meeting To Call Off Strike is Postponed To January 15
According to news making the rounds all over the internet.
Following an earlier thrend on nairaland that A report from an impeccable source who pleaded anonymity revealed that the leadership of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) are already converging in a yet to disclose venue in Kano State, where the union will eventually take the final decision to end the strike action that has paralysed academic activities in public universities.
This is after having concluded ASUU branches congress in various universities, where the majority of the branches have voted to call a quit to the lingering industrial action by ASUU.
The union is scheduled to hold National congress where final decision will be taken to end the strike.
The source revealed that the union will definitely call off the strike as majority of ASUU branches have voted in favour of the strike to be called off despite some branches who are opposed to the end of the strike.
He further stated that the strike is as good as being called off, as the national congress in Kano is just to formalise the process.

EKSU Acceptance Fee Payment for 2013/2014 session Started
We are using this medium to inform all newly admitted students of the Ekiti State University (EKSU) that the school authority has urged all the admitted students to commence their Registration and Acceptance Fee Payment.
Please find the Instructions below.
1. Admitted Students of EKSU are to Pay the sum of N1,000.00 (One thousand Naira only) for EKSU admission checking via e-transact at any of the following banks:
* Enterprise Bank Ltd,
* First Bank PLC,
* Access Bank PLC,

* UBA Bank PLC,
* WEMA Bank PLC and

After payment, candidates should obtain eTRANZACT receipt from the bank to print the admission slip on the University website www.eksu.edu.ng.
2. Print a copy of the admission slip and pay the Acceptance Fee of N32,000.00 (Thirty two thousand Naira only) via e- transact at any of the designated banks listed above.
3. Thereafter, you are to Obtain eTRANZACT receipt from the banks. Log on to the University website by clicking on the link above or here–> www.eksu.edu.ng when the page loads up.
Click on the “Acceptance Payment” Link, Enter the payment code on the receipt and the JAMB Registration Number appropriate to complete the online Data registration.
Print a copy of the admission slip and Online Data Registration and proceed to the Admissions Office of the University in Room 011 Ground Floor of OMOLAYO ADMINISTRATION BUILDING with your two recent passport photographs and photocopies of all your credentials, namely Academic and professional qualifications (i.e. SSCE, NECO,NABTEB,ND,OND, etc).
A clearance slip will be issued to you which you can use for the verification of your entry results.
Note: This is COMPULSORY as your Central Screening cannot be done without this clearance slip.
Information on the date for the commencement of registration and payment of fees will be communicated in due course to you via this portal.

eclipse on Sunday, November 3.Mohammed, at a press briefing in Abuja urged Nigerians not to panic over the course of the eclipse, saying all the states will be affected by the eclipse and across the whole of West Africa.
He said, “Different cultures have different reactions to them. There is no course for alarm. There is no need to panic. It will not affect signal from the stationary satellites which means that GSM will continue to work and other things will be normal.

The malarial parasite, Plasmodium, is a very small, single-cell
blood organism, or 'protozoan'. It lives as a parasite in other organisms, namely man monkeys and mosquitoes. The parasite is the cause of the tropical disease malaria.
The Plasmodium parasite is dependent on a single species of mosquito, Anopheles, which is the only species capable of serving as host for it.
What are the different stages of the parasite's life cycle?
This small single-cell organism has three to four different forms. Each form is specialised in living in a certain place.
The gametocyte is the form that infects the mosquito and reproduces itself, as if it were both sexes. When the mosquito has sucked blood containing gametocytes, these pass into the salivary glands of the mosquito, where they develop into a new form, the sporozoite. The infection can then move on.
The sporozoite can be passed on to man when the mosquito bites, injecting its saliva into the tiny blood vessels. The sporozoite travels with the blood to the liver and enters the liver cells. In the liver some of the sporozoites divide (tachysporozoites) and become thousands of merozoites.
The merozoites are released from the liver to the blood where they are taken up by the red blood corpuscles. Some of these turn into ring-formed trophozoites that split again to form schizonts.
Schizonts burst the red blood corpuscles at a certain moment, releasing the merozoites. This release coincides with the violent rises in temperature during the attacks seen in many cases of malaria.
The trophozoites that are left over during division can, in the course of the next day, develop into the sexual form, the gametocyte, which can be taken up by a blood-sucking mosquito and start another cycle.
The incubation period (time from infection to development of the disease) is usually from 7 to 30 days (shorter periods with the deadliest form of flaciparum).
Plasmodium ovale and Plasmodium vivax can produce a dormant form, a hypnozoite, that can cause relapses of the disease months and even years after the original disease (relapsing malaria) because it's dormant in the liver cells.
This is why it's important after these infections to be treated with primaquine to kill the liver stages. (Primaquine cannot be used by people with a condition called G6PD-deficiency.)

Agagu's Body, Immediate Family Members In Crashed Plane
It is reported from an unconfirmed sources that the
Associated airline plane that crashed in Lagos this morning contained
the body of the late former Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Kokumo Agagu
and members of his immediate family.
As at the time of this report Nigerian current cannot confirm the state of the passengers.
Unconfirmed reports says there were some survivals.
The funeral rites for the former
governor is schedule to start today in Akure with a Lying in State at
the freedom Park Akure after which the body will move to Iju Odo for
another Lying in state.
According to reports, 15 people are feared dead. The body of the former Governor of Ondo State Olusegun Agagu who died in September after slumping in Lagos, was also allegedly on board. He is to buried tomorrow Friday 4th October 2013.

neco releases result for 2013/2014 may/june exam
The National Examinations Council, NECO, has released 2013 Senior Schools Certificate Examinations results .
According to Vanguard, there was a considerable improvement by the students nationwide compared with the past results.
NECO Registrar, Professor Promise Nwachukwu Okpala, said a total number of 1,052,898 candidates registered for the examinations.
Okpala said out of the figure, 1,034,263 candidates actually sat for the examinations. He noted that 681,507, representing 66. 63 per cent passed English Language at credit level while 668,314, representing 65.50 per cent also passed Mathematics at credit level.
According to the Registrar, 719593, representing 69.57 per cent passed at credit level, while number of candidates who made five passes and above stood at 998,624, representing 96. 55 per cent.
Also, the number of candidates involved in examinations malpractices dropped to 8,308, representing 0.80 per cent.
“This year’s result shows a remarkable improvement compared to that of 2011 result, which stood at 15.84 per cent pass at credit level and 2012 result of 51. 66 per cent also at credit level,” the elated Registrar declared.

How to add "you might also like"widget to blogger
Here are instructions on how to add "you might also like" or " you
may also like widget to your blogger's blog
1st step: visit www.linkwithin.com
2nd step:fill up all fields like email,bloglink,plaform and click on get widget
3rd step:now click on install widget at top next new window will open.
4th step:select your blog name.pehaps you may have more than one blog
all you have to do is to select the blog u want to add the widget to.
5th step:click on add widget.
6th step:Go back to your blog dash board and you will find the widget installed
at the right hand side.
N.B-it is advisable to place the widget below your blog posts frame

i implemented this on my blog http://www.webcodeexpert.com/ but it is working properly on some pages but on some pages it is not displaying the image but just lines. What to do?Reply
If you have image on that particular post it will display. Check the posts once. else try to repeat all the above steps it should work since i have tried for two of my blogs it was working.
